
Ingredients
- 12 oz 340 g spaghetti
- 1 lb 450 g ground beef
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper any color, diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 14.5 oz / 410 g can diced tomatoes
- 1 8 oz / 225 g can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese optional, for topping
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
How To Make Cowboy Spaghetti
- Cook the pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside.
- Cook the beef and vegetables
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and bell pepper. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add sauces and seasonings
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce.
- Add chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Combine pasta and sauce
- Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the beef mixture.
- Toss well until pasta is coated evenly with the sauce.
- Serve
- Divide the Cowboy Spaghetti onto plates.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
