- 1 lb 450 g ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese or cheddar blend
- 1 bag 750 g / 26 oz frozen French fries
- ½ cup diced onion optional
- ¼ cup diced pickles optional, for true cheeseburger flavor
- Cooking spray or 1 tbsp oil
How To Make Cheeseburger French Fry Bake
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a large baking dish.
- Cook the beef:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced onion (if using). Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
- Season & flavor:
- Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, and mustard. Mix well, then remove from heat.
- Bake the fries:
- Spread frozen French fries evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15–20 minutes until they begin to crisp.
- Assemble:
- Remove fries from the oven. Spoon the seasoned beef evenly over the fries. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and add pickles if using.
- Finish baking:
- Return to the oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot:
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Optional toppings: extra ketchup, burger sauce, or chopped lettuce on top.
