Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450 g breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup 240 ml whole milk
  • 2 cups 200 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups 120 g frozen hash browns, thawed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

How To Make Incredible Breakfast Bake

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • Sauté the vegetables by adding the onion and bell pepper to the sausage. Cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Layer the base by spreading the hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with melted butter.
  • Add the filling by spooning the sausage and vegetable mixture over the hash browns. Sprinkle evenly with shredded cheese.
  • Whisk the eggs in a bowl with milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the entire dish.
  • Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  • Rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve. Garnish if desired
