These 3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Butter Noodles are tender, rich, and full of simple savory flavor. They make an easy comfort-food side dish for weeknights, holidays, potlucks, or family dinners.
Optional for serving: parsleyblack pepper, or grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
Pour the chicken broth into the slow cooker and add the sliced butter.
Cover and cook on HIGH for about 20 minutes, or until the butter is fully melted.
Add the egg noodles to the slow cooker and gently stir so the noodles are mostly covered by the broth mixture.
Cover again and cook on HIGH for 1 ½ to 2 hours, stirring once or twice while they cook, until the noodles are tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Stir the noodles well before serving.
For a richer finish, add a little extra butter and stir until melted.
Serve warm with parsley, black pepper, or grated parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
For the best texture, begin checking the noodles near the 1 ½-hour mark since slow cookers can heat differently. Remove them from the heat once they are tender so they stay soft and buttery without becoming mushy.
