1cupThree Cheese Pasta Sauceor your favorite pasta sauce
1can8 oz refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 ½cupsshredded Italian cheese blend6 oz, divided
¼teaspoondried basil leaves
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Add Sauce: Stir the pasta sauce into the ground beef. Heat the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Prepare Crust: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles. In an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate, arrange the dough in a spoke pattern. The wide bases should overlap slightly in the center, and the narrow tips should hang over the rim of the plate by about 3 inches. Press the dough into the bottom and sides to seal and form a crust.
First Cheese Layer: Sprinkle 1 cup of the Italian cheese blend evenly over the bottom of the crust.
Add Filling: Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly over the cheese layer.
Fold Dough: Bring the narrow tips of the crescent dough up and over the filling toward the center. Do not overlap the tips; leave the center slightly open.
Final Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheese over the center opening. Dust the entire casserole evenly with the dried basil.
Bake: Bake for 20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
