Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup 10.5 ounces
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 sleeve buttery round crackers crushed, about 1 ½ cups crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • Nonstick cooking spray or butter for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  • Stir until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and well blended.
  • Fold in the shredded chicken and mix until the chicken is evenly coated in the creamy mixture.
  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, combine the crushed crackers and melted butter until all the crumbs are evenly moistened.
  • Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly around the edges and the topping is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, add the cracker topping right before baking so it stays crisp and golden instead of absorbing moisture from the creamy filling.
