½cupunsalted buttermelted
Nonstick cooking spray or butterfor greasing the baking dish
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
Stir until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and well blended.
Fold in the shredded chicken and mix until the chicken is evenly coated in the creamy mixture.
Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine the crushed crackers and melted butter until all the crumbs are evenly moistened.
Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly around the edges and the topping is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For the best texture, add the cracker topping right before baking so it stays crisp and golden instead of absorbing moisture from the creamy filling.
