Hog Pogs are the easy appetizer you never knew you needed. With no chopping and no pre-cooking, these simple little toasts have savory, creamy, comforting flair and take almost no effort to make. You only need FOUR ingredients to whip them up, and that’s counting the bread! Make ’em big or make ’em bite-sized, either way they go fast. These are always a hit!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to Make Hog Pogs
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the sausage and cream cheese until well combined. Add the parmesan cheese, and mix to combine.
- Spread each slice of bread with a thin layer of the sausage mixture. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Repeat with remaining bread slices. Top with a light sprinkling of parmesan cheese. Bake until sausage is cooked through and edges of the bread have browned, about 15 minutes.
- Broil until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Enjoy!
